A fantastic opportunity has arisen to join our Sustainability Team as a Sustainability Governance & Reporting Senior Manager on a Fixed Term Contract. This role will play a crucial role in leading the sustainability related governance, risk and reporting activities for Pilgrim’s Europe. .

Job Title - Sustainability Governance and Reporting Senior Manager

Location - Uxbridge/or any Pilgrim's Europe sites - site based

Contract Type - Full-time, Fixed Term Contract - maternity cover 12 months

The Sustainability Governance & Reporting Senior Manager is responsible for leading the governance, risk, reporting and programme management strategy and team and be a thought leader on emerging sustainability related topics and themes

The role will work to drive across Pilgrim’s Europe to make our products, brands and categories more sustainable and to leverage those actions as a growth driver with consumers, customers and stakeholders.

Key Responsibilities

  • Leadership, development and implementation of Pilgrim’s Europe sustainability governance, risk, reporting and programme management approach.
  • Line management and development of the Sustainability Governance, Risk & Reporting team
  • Working across key business functions to ensure sustainability is embedded into Pilgrims Europe strategy and relevant strategic workstreams and sustainability related reporting is embedded in ways of working.
  • Lead the internal governance of the sustainability structure, coordinating working groups, tracking KPI’s and projects and communicating to internal stakeholders, ensuring adequate oversight and control over Pilgrim’s Europe sustainability strategy.
  • Promote and raise awareness across Pilgrim’s Europe about the impact of emerging sustainability trends via horizon scanning, and the direction and requirements of our customers and suppliers.
  • Identify future legislation and regulation, develop strategies for ensuring Pilgrim’s Europe adheres to new requirements.
  • Develop and deliver capability building programs and tools to grow capability fast.
  • Lead our sustainability materially and risk assessment approach in line with relevant guidelines.
  • Work with sustainability Subject Matter Experts to ensure clear collaboration and action on delivering governance requirements.
  • Leading our work on product level environmental footprints, partnering across the sustainability team to support them to drive actions to make our products, brands and categories more sustainable and work with the product innovation teams to assess the impact of new products on our sustainability targets and recommend solutions for areas of concern.
  • Ensure accurate and timely reporting of sustainability related data and compliance with the relevant legal, trading and industry frameworks and regulations.

Skills and Knowledge

  • Degree in sustainability, finance or compliance disciplines - desirable
  • Demonstrable relevant experience and commercial acumen
  • Deep expertise in programme management and running governance processes.
  • Experience in creating and delivering capability building.
  • Experience in integrating sustainability into core business processes to make this ‘part of how we work around here’ – ensuring sustainability is ‘built in’, not ‘bolt on’.
  • A skilled communicator who is readily able to adapt their style for positive impact – identifying ‘what’s in it’ for the person or group you are seeking to engage – flexing your style to suit the audience while always acting with integrity.
  • A team player who is passionate about sustainability and social impact and adept at working with others to deliver results.
  • Ability to travel across Pilgrim’s Europe value chain as required.
  • Line management experience
