Purpose

To lead the strategy and growth of the Pilgrim’s Europe brands and products and develop the sales team to deliver against business objectives. Commercial Controller will be responsible for leading the sales within the defined strategic account business unit to maximise revenue, volume, and contribution across all categories, building strong cross functional relationships both internally and externally.

Key Accountabilities:

  • Leadership of a team with several direct reports. Setting the strategic direction of the team members and setting clear KPI measures.
  • P+L responsibility for total brands and products within respective category. • Full responsibility for developing and agreeing annual joint business plans with the customer across all routes to market and product categories.
  • Manage and develop a team of SCM, CM, CE to ensure sales targets are met.
  • Wire externally and establish customer relationships with Category Buying Managers/Head of MFP/Customer & Pilgrim’s Europe Snr Team.
  • Ensure common ways of working across a number of categories.
  • Lead the growth of our brands & products across key accounts in line with business objectives.
  • Be the voice of our customers internally, championing their strategies and objectives to ensure plans are aligned to each customer.
  • Lead out and execute growth strategies including Go to Market Strategies and PPA Revenue Planning.
  • Lead cross functional Business Team across respective categories.

Skills & Knowledge:

  • Strong background in major retail account management. Typically, a minimum of 5 years working at National Account Manager Level is to be expected at this level within our business given the high-profile nature of such accounts.
  • A proven track record of success working with at least one of the top Grocery multiple accounts.
  • Brands & Product experience. Able to understand consumer preferences as well as retailer preferences.
  • Concise communicator with strong interpersonal skills
  • Excellent negotiation and influencing skills.
  • Highly analytical with excellent project management and presentation skills.
  • The ability to lead and set direction while remaining very hands on.
  • Previous success in coaching and mentoring junior members of the team.
  • Self-motivated, able to self-manage.
  • Able to function well in a team, but also work well on own.
  • A result driven, tenacious character that can facilitate and direct; not fold under demands and can push though ideas. Tough and highly resilient.
  • Smart, professional, polished.
  • Experience of MS Office suite with good Excel & PowerPoint skills.
  • Leadership, Commercial & Negotiation skills.
